I enjoy controlled loneliness. I like wandering around the city alone. I’m not afraid of coming back to an empty flat and lying down in an empty bed. I’m afraid of having no one to miss, of having no one to love. —Kuba Wojewodzki, Polish journalist and comedian.  (via thatkindofwoman)

Anonymous: "what did u find appealing about the movie her"

I think the real question here is what didn’t I find appealing about the movie Her? I loved everything about it: it’s messages, Spike Jonze’s script and direction, Joaquin Pheonix holding the film down (he got robbed of an Oscar nom, imo, he was heartbreaking), Amy Adams supporting him, Scarlett Johansson being able to emote through voice and only through voice, the colouring and imagery, and the soundtrack. It’s really something special.

Additionally, I saw a Tumblr post about how this film and Lost In Translation can almost be seen as a pair, with Lost In Translation being Sofia Coppola’s way of showing what it was like to be married to Spike, and Her was Spike Jonze’s side, showing his failures as a husband.

hey-saymyname: "Once you get this, you have to say five nice things you like about yourself publicly, then send it to some of your favourite followers!"

Thanks, bud!

  1. I’m a pretty good conversationalist. I’ve never found someone I couldn’t hold a conversation with.
  2. Quick learner. I’ve never really found something I was genuinely bad at.
  3. I’m pretty well-rounded, I guess. By this, I mean that my career path isn’t the only path I have in my life. I find time to go out with friends and to bars, play sports and work out, spend time with my mum, and take some very valuable me-time to centre my chi. I make time for my hobbies and things I love, even though life gets insanely stressful at times.
  4. I’m a pretty good judge of character. Usually my first impressions/feelings about people are right and on the rare chance that they aren’t, I’ll openly admit to it.
  5. I would go through hell for the things I’m very passionate about and people I care for.
